Agree to Disagree
I can hear their glares…
and I have…
“Kike!”
“Penny pincher!”
“Thief!”
“Sneaky!”
“Evil!”
“Murderer!”
“Rootless!”
Well, I disagree.
If God's word is eternal
Why do they claim
that it has
“changed?”
Surely, all things do.
But not this, for it is the truth.
Therefore, He Above All
remains the same.
These unbroken gold chains
Were given to me by my mother
And her mother before her
Inherited by her mother before her.
I have seen a gray sky split in two,
And the bad times I never thought I’d see through.
To the lord:
What am I without you?
I am he who spills blood,
for not the fear of a flood.
How you dared to have cleansed me.
Shaping bones under steel.
In the nation that would not heel.
Over and over again.
Through the slaughter
the proof
of a doctrine
labours eternal.
These roots run deep,
and I am not a thief.
The watch on my wrist proves I am not cheap,
And I am too abrupt to be sneaky
I have never taken a life
Though I have buried my loved ones
six feet deep with my own hands,
shoveling dirt on top of a fancy box,
